Software Developer (Community Current)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Developer with a passion for using technology to support social and environmental change, and who enjoys working in a collaborative, values-driven organisation.

 

Community Energy is recognised by government as a vital driver of clean energy supply and reduced household bills. The government’s new Local Power Plan is delivering 1 billion pounds in funding for local energy initiativesSupporting this activity will require new forms of sector-wide infrastructure and support. 

 

Community Current (CC) is an Energy Redress funded innovation project which will accelerate the growth of the UK Community Energy (CE) sector. CC an open-source suite of digital tools that streamline operations, reduce administrative burden, and strengthen community engagement.  

 

Role outline: We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to work as part of the Community current development team on Elysia (a solar billing operations platform)You will work with another remote developer to build out the requirements of the platform, with high quality, robust and security-conscious coding standards.

 

Contract: Fixed term (18 months)

Salary: £45,000 FT (pro-rata)

Hours: 2 days per week (0.4 FTE) 

Location: Flexible. Minimum of 1 day per week in the Repowering London office. Support will be provided for remote/home working if you need it.
