FAQs

Will it help me get a job?
Yes. The workshops and training sessions are designed to boost your employability and develop your transferable skills for the workplace. You will also have the chance to meet local employers, get support with CV writing and interview practice. You will also take part in 2 days of work experience, which you will be able to refer to in future job applications to show your suitability for the role.

When and where will it take place?
The programme will start on 14 January and run for 10 evening and weekend sessions from  January to March. Most of the sessions will take place at the Canning Town library, which is easily accessible by bus, train and tube. There will be a couple of site visits to local employers or places of interest, and we can pay for your travel to these if necessary.

I don’t know what I want to do in the future, should I still apply?
Yes. The programme itself will be fun, varied and interesting, and is not aimed at any one particular role or job. The whole point of the programme is to introduce people to the range of jobs that might be on offer in the future green economy, and the skills needed for them.

I want to do a degree at university. How will this programme be useful to me?
Taking part in this programme is exactly the sort of thing you can use in your UCAS application to show you have extended your learning beyond the standard academic curriculum.

Do I get a qualification?
Yes. You will complete AQA accredited units and an accredited unit from the Retrofit Academy, along with a certificate of attendance from Repowering London.
